Basically what the title says. I have 2-factor authentication set up with GMail and use the GMail app on my iPhone and iPad. The way the app seems to work is you use 2-factor authentication once when you configure your account, then forevermore it opens your email when you open the app with no password or pin requirement.In then end, though, it is forced to use IMAP, since that is all Google exposes to third party mail clients. Certain fancy pants Gmail features will only be available via the Web, since Google does not offer an actual Gmail app for Windows. FYI, when you add your Google account to Windows via Mail, it also adds your Google Calendar and Contacts. Open the acct in gmail. Click the hamburger lines. Settings. Tap the email address to set. Tap 'Sync Emails From'. Sounds like your is set to 1 month but you can select other options too including from all time. Sync emails from last day, last 3 days, last week, last 2 weeks, or last month.Also Google Calendar iOS app not getting notifications for events created from outside iOS app (another device or calendar on the web). UPDATE: keeping Google Calendar opened in background fix issue with sync and notifications. Still no luck with Gmail.
